PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - During Hurricane Michael, Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport experienced moderate damage to some of their facilities, including the covered parking area of the complex.
Now contractors are ready to start working on repairs for the damaged covers. It will require the parking area to be closed for about three weeks starting in January 2020.
People planning to travel around that time should expect some delays getting to the airport from the overflow parking areas.
"We're going to be putting up signs probably in early December that says here's what we're going to be doing in January. We're going to work very hard to make it as seamless as possible but we do understand there's going to be some inconvenience," said Airport Executive Director Parker McClellan.
There will be no covered parking available during this time in January at ECP.
