We are so fortunate to live in a community filled with people that have such giving and genuine hearts. 850 Strong is evident in the community every day.

After Hurricane Michael, the out-pouring of support and stories of neighbors helping neighbors, inspired NewsChannel 7 to start a series to share these stories with you.

There are amazing stewards in our the community like Rachal Smoker, who started Rachal's Recovery Relief right after the hurricane. She's tarped roofs, fed and clothed people, and provided money for utility bills.

Or Lisa Hanna, owner of L.H. Bead Gallery in downtown Panama City. She's sold thousands of #850Strong charms, and donated all the money to Bay District Schools.

And Ms. Angel Belcher, she's cooked meals, helped clean up homes, and delivered care packages. When we brought you her story, we had no idea it would get state and national attention. The First Lady of Florida, Casey DeSantis, honored Ms. Angel, with an award. The White House flew Ms. Angel to Washington D.C. and the president honored her at his Fourth of July celebration.

There are amazing organizations like Mercy Chefs. The nonprofit has served thousands of meals since Hurricane Michael. The group served dinner to Bay District School families all summer long, and just announced their plan to stay here.

Food Banks are giving away food for free to anyone in need every single week. Samaritan's Purse has committed to rebuild about 80 homes.

Those are just some of the stories we've told, but we need your help. We know there are more everyday heroes out there and NewsChannel 7 wants to tell their story. If you know of an individual or organization that deserves some recognition please email us at news@wjhg.com.
