Preparations are underway for the municipal election taking place on April 17th in Bay County.

Testing took place Wednesday morning to make sure all election equipment is functioning properly.

According to Bay County Supervisor of Elections Mark Andersen, the tests were successful and are unique to our area.

"We do a little more than your average county. We test every single piece of equipment for public testing so the confidence is there. We also have an additional separate system that we run independently from our main system so we have two complete independent systems so that our office doesn't connect to the internet. They can't hack in anywhere because there's no way to hack in if you have no access to get in," Andersen said.

There are two locations for early voting: the Bay County Supervisor of Elections Office on 11th Street in Panama City and the Lyndell Senior Center in Panama City Beach.

Those will be open next week, Monday through Friday.
