PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - A local car dealership and the Gulf Coast Children's Advocacy Center are helping a local family get back on the road.
A van was traded in to Bill Byrd Kia recently and instead of trade-in value, the local asked if the van could be donated to a family in need.
Bill Byrd Kia then reached out to the Gulf Coast Children's Advocacy Center to find the appropriate family and they received their new ride Tuesday afternoon. The mother of the family says she's still in shock.
Brittainy Harkins, who received the van said she was, "Nervous, happy, excited, I don't know, overwhelmed. I couldn't be more grateful, no 'Thank you' is going to pay it forward."
The family was selected from the Advocacy Center's Parents as Teachers program.
