Farmer's markets are coming back to Walton County, after being deemed an essential service.

In Niceville the 30A Farmer's Market has been ongoing, but starting next Saturday, the Grand Boulevard will open.

Organizers say all the booths will have to be six to ten feet apart, and people will have to maintain social distancing.

Diane Kolopanas, Owner of 30A Farmer's Markets, says the things people buy at farmer's markets actually touches fewer hands than in grocery stores.

"When you do come to the farmer's market and lets say you buy produce from a farmer, hopefully that product has only been touched by him and one other person, his coworker that's at the table with them," Kolopana said.

Farmer's markets were removed from the list of prohibited activities at Tuesday's meeting of the board of county commissioners.

The 30A Farmer's Market in Rosemary Beach has not set a return date at this time.
