PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - The holidays can be a difficult time for low-income families.
That's why Fellowship Baptist Church in Panama City gave back to Lucille Moore Elementary School.
The church and school have had a partnership for three years now, where volunteers from the church donate newly-wrapped gifts for students.
The gifts were wrapped and organized by grade and gender.
The Music Minister of the church, Curt Davis, even attended Lucille Moore as a child.
"I had an idea of giving back to our own community and since I had gone to Lucille Moore School all those years ago, back when the old building was out in the front, bus-loading area now, I thought what a wonderful way to give to our community as if we give to Lucille Moore," Curt Davis said.
When the partnership started, Davis said the church delivered 250 packages. This year, the church was able to bring 458 gifts.
