TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Governor Ron DeSantis has directed the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) to extend the deadline for Hurricane Michael debris removal.
Governor DeSantis says by May 1st, FDOT's finals pass will begin. The original final pass date was April 15th. The Governor says this will help cut down on the fire risk.
FDOT is serving Calhoun, Franklin, Gadsden, Gulf, Holmes, Jackson, Liberty, Wakulla, and Washington Counties in Northwest Florida by removing Hurricane Michael debris.
