Firefighters save five family dogs in mobile home fire

PAXTON, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Five family dogs were reportedly rescued by Walton County Fire Rescue firefighters during a residential fire on Tuesday afternoon.

A 911 call dispatched Walton County Fire Rescue to a mobile home on State Line Road. Reports say firefighters and paramedics arrived to smoke pouring out of the windows of the home.

WCFR crews found the flames were coming from a bedroom in home, and quickly put out the flames with assistance from Florala Volunteer Fire Department firefighters.

Although no residents were reported to be home during the inferno, firefighters found three dogs inside, and began treating them for smoke inhalation. One of the resident's arrived after the fire was contained and told officials two more dogs were missing. WCFR crews were able to rescue all five dogs.

Electrical issues are said to be the cause of the fire. The scene was cleared just after 2 P.M.
