The First Baptist Church of Panama City wanted to give its community members a little hopeSunday afternoon.

The church held its Spring Celebration of Hope in Downtown Panama City.

The celebration was a block party that featured live music from local duo Cori and Kelly, inflatables for the kids, and free food.

First Baptist typically holds a fall festival, but Hurricane Michael had other plans.

So church leaders say they had to reschedule.

Craig Conner, the Senior Pastor said, "So I thought back then if there was any way we could do something in the spring, just to encourage our kids that we wanted to try and do that. That's really what this is all about, it's providing a fun place where the kids can come and have a great time."

There were also different booths set up to help provide services any residents may need like insurance, debris removal, and even counseling.
