Trees were handed out at the UF/IFAS extension in Panama City on Thursday, on a first come, first served basis.
The goal is to restore some of the tree cover lost during Hurricane Michael.
More trees will be handed out in Marianna and Blountstown on January 18 and January 23, respectively. Several different tree types are available.
