PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Springing forward and falling back could be a thing of the past in Florida if one State Senator has his way.
Republican Senator Greg Steube of Sarasota wants to get rid of Daylight Saving Time completely.
He filed Senate Bill 858 November 13th, proposing Florida to stay on Standard Time all year.
Arizona and Hawaii are the only states that don't observe this practice.
It still has to go through the Senate Committee and Governor Rick Scott needs to sign the bill for it to pass.
If it passes, it would go into effect January 1, 2019.
