Florida Veterans Business Outreach Center receives national award

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - A local organization is being nationally recognized for its hard work.

The Veterans Business Outreach Center at Gulf Coast State College helps Veterans start small businesses.

The United States Small Business Association Recognized the Florida office of the VBOC as the 2019 VBOC of the year out of 22 other offices throughout the country.

Associate Director of the Florida VBOC, Brent Peacock, was thrilled to find out they had won for the second time.

"I think our dedication to the veterans small business community and those military members who want to start a business, to take their passion, their desire, their problem-solving skills, and to format that and to form that into a business, is a reward in itself," said Peacock.

Peacock went on to say winning an award like this is like winning the Super Bowl. He also said he could not have done this without the rest of his dedicated team.
