According to the office of Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis, it's estimated that more than a third of Bay County's student population struggles with some form of depression, anxiety, or post-traumatic stress disorder after Hurricane Michael.

That's why Patronis will be hosting a Mental Health Town Hall this Monday.

Community leaders and mental health experts will gather to address these issues and hear from the public.

"We're hoping to initiate a dialogue, just nothing else but just start a talk and hopefully help you realize that you're not in it alone. Hurricane Michael has created some emotional hurdles that we've still yet to clear," said Patronis.

The event is open to the public. It will be held at the Bay High School cafeteria and will begin at 5:30 p.m.
