Florida's First Lady reflects on the past year after Hurricane Michael

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - As part of her tour around Bay County for the first anniversary of Hurricane Michael, Florida's First Lady Casey DeSantis, took the time to speak to us.

She and the Governor have visited the area several times since the hurricane hit and have witnessed the devastation firsthand.

When describing her experience in the Panhandle over the past year DeSantis said, "Being back a year later you see a lot of progress. You really see in the long run this community is going to be stronger and better than ever. You see people who want to invest frankly from all over the world here in this community. But you want it to be faster because you understand people are still struggling."
