Fort Walton Beach Labor Day DUI checkpoint

FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - The Fort Walton Beach Police Department is partnering with the U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to get drunk drivers off the roads for the 2019 Labor Day holiday.

They are doing this as a part of the national "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" campaign.

During the time between August 14 and September 2, the Fort Walton Beach Police Department will have increased officers on the roads as well as an increase in national message boards warning of drunk driving dangers.

The Fort Walton Beach Police Department will also be conducting a DUI checkpoint on August 31.
