FRANKLIN COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - The Franklin County Jail gave its inmates a little taste of the holidays.
On Tuesday the jail hosted a typical Thanksgiving dinner, with turkey, ham, stuffing, giblet gravy, and much more.
This is the second annual Thanksgiving meal the jail has hosted, and some inmates even got to help bake some of the pies.
"It's interesting to teach the inmates something new, to utilize that skill, and to see that they were coming together. They were happy, they were feeling the holiday spirit, that was really great. So I'm glad I was able to be a part of this," said Franklin County Jail's Food Service Director, Nikki Thompson.
And for Christmas, the jail is trying to organize an event so children can come to see their family members.
