Good Friday morning everyone!
It's another beautiful morning with clear skies overhead and nothing doing on radar. But it is another cold start!
We're largely in the 30s this morning with some areas getting down to freezing on the thermometer away from the coast. If the thermometer doesn't say it's freezing, well when the light wind blows early on this morning it will certainly feel like it's around 32 degrees or colder.
Abundant sunshine stretches our skies again today and it helps out a bit with our temperatures throughout the day. We'll warm up to seasonal degrees this afternoon with highs topping out near 60 degrees.
High pressure is sliding into the Mid Atlantic states today and that starts to redirect our winds in from the east and eventually the southeast tonight. However, we won't have a long enough southerly wind to pump up enough moisture for any significant rain chance ahead of an approaching area of low pressure poised to move through over the weekend.
The warm front with this system will extend out along the Northern Gulf Coast heading into the daytime on Saturday pushing temperatures Saturday afternoon into the mid 60s. It may have just enough lift and moisture to produce a few small light scattered showers Saturday afternoon. They won't be enough to ruin any plans over, however, this front will increase our cloud cover so don't expect to see much sunshine on Saturday.
The cold front associated with this low passes through Saturday night into early Sunday morning and that may be the best chance at catching another light small shower before the front passes through the Panhandle around sunrise or a little after on Sunday. The rest of our Sunday shapes up to be a mix of sun and clouds with mild afternoon temperatures in the mid 60s.
We're only expecting to see a tenth or two of an inch of rain when all is said and done with this weekend's rain chance.
For today, abundant sunshine and seasonal temperatures warming up to near 60 this afternoon. Your 7 Day Forecast will bring in a bit more clouds and warmth into the weekend with a chance for a stray shower Saturday afternoon and Saturday night.
