Friday Forecast

Good Friday morning everyone!

It's a little active on radar this morning under a mostly cloudy sky as a cold front is approaching the Panhandle today. We'll have a few scattered showers over Okaloosa and Walton Counties to start off the day. These showers will be sliding east throughout the day today. They're pretty small in nature and overall will be briefly heavy as one or two pass through your neighborhoods today.

Otherwise, temperatures are mild and feeling a bit muggy this morning in the mid to upper 60s. That'll be changing later this afternoon! As the cold front passes through, we'll notice a couple things happen by the days end... Not only will a stray shower move through, but winds will shift to the north and draw in some cooler and drier air to finish off the day.

Overall it will still be a pleasant day as temperatures manage to reach the low 70s under the mostly cloudy skies. Even as the winds shift later today, while the change in humidity and slightly cooler air starts to move in, it'll be a gradual process. This evening still looks very nice with temperatures gradually dropping through the upper 60s. It just may feel a bit cooler thanks to the north breeze and falling humidity, so perhaps a light jacket for any Friday night festivities.

Otherwise, this front is a slow mover and it could still stir up a little rain over the weekend where a few showers look possible both Saturday morning and overnight Saturday into Sunday. Overall it'll be light rain in nature, so not much more than a quarter inch of rain will be expected.
What you will notice this weekend is the cooler air invading!

Saturday morning lows start out in the low 50s with highs only reaching the low 60s with slightly breezy northerly winds. Sunday starts in the 40s(!) with highs rebounding a little into the mid to upper 60s under mainly to mostly cloudy skies both days. Perhaps a little more of that sun tries to open up between the clouds on Sunday.

Bottom Line...
For today, mostly cloudy skies with a passing shower or two.
Highs reach the low 70s. Your 7 Day Forecast has us cooling off into the weekend with a few lingering showers possible Saturday morning and overnight Saturday into Sunday morning. None of which should really slow you down during the daylight hours over the weekend!
