PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - A long-time member of the Bay District School board announced she is stepping down.
Ginger Littleton announced at the Bay District School Board meeting on Tuesday afternoon she is stepping down at the end of the calendar year.
School board officials say the November organizational meeting will most likely be her final meeting as a school board member.
Those on the board say Littleton means so much to them and the community.
School Board Chairman Steve Moss said, "She's the longest sitting school board member we have in Bay District Schools. She's been a teacher for many years. It's hard to put into words what Mrs. Littleton means to this school board. Obviously a lot of people know her because of the school board shooting."
Moss says Governor Ron DeSantis will appoint a new member to sit on the board after Littleton is gone.
