Girl Scout Cookies Delivered to Bay County

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - It's that time of the year again, the time when millions of Americans scour their town for Girl Scout stands selling their famous cookies.

Saturday morning, Little Brownie Bakers, the official Girl Scout Cookie bakers for the Panama City region, delivered cookies for local Girl Scouts.

The Girl Scout Council of the Florida Panhandle hosted the haul at Aadvantage Relocation in Panama City.

The haul included 66,516 boxes of cookies.

The money from each sold box goes towards funding the troops, and in some cases, the money is put back into the community.

The Girl Scouts is a great way to encourage leadership and personal growth for young women.

Rita Stokes, a recruitment leader, says "We're just glad to be here in our community. We're 850 strong, and we're just here to support our local community. We know we've been through a lot, but Girl Scouts has always been that organization to put leaders in the front. We have a lot of girls that are go-getters, a lot of volunteers, and we're just proud to be here in our community."

The Girl Scouts will be selling their cookies Sunday at Walmart on 23rd Street.
