Alaqua Animal Refuge is known for giving abused and neglected animals a second chance.

Last summer NewsChannel 7 reported a mass rescue of more than 80 Great Pyrenees dogs. Many were severely malnourished.

One in particular, now named Aaron, was considered the worst of the bunch, according to Alaqua officials.

With numerous physical and mental health concerns, Alaqua caretakers were not sure Aaron would make it, but now, almost a year later, he has made a full recovery!

Aaron has been placed with his new forever home and is said to be living a happy, healthy life!
