BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - A Gulf Breeze woman has been arrested for multiple hit-and-runs Saturday morning.
According to Florida Highway Patrol officials, troopers responded to a "Be On the Look Out" from the Walton County Sheriff's Office for a white Lincoln SUV that was involved in multiple hit-and-run crashes in Okaloosa and Walton Counties.
They say the Lincoln, driven by Susan Blair Case, 68, was seen heading eastbound on State Road 30 toward Bay County at a high rate of speed. Troopers say they attempted to intercept the Lincoln but it was being driven recklessly and weaving in and out of traffic.
Troopers say Case passed traffic stopped for the Bay Line train, crossing US 98 and SR 368, and hit the train multiple times. Troopers attempted to remove Case from the vehicle, but say Case then placed the SUV in reverse and fled, striking a trooper and his patrol car.
They say two troopers then pursued the damaged Lincoln until it became disabled on 23rd Street at Airport Road.
Case was then arrested and taken to a local hospital. Both troopers were treated for minor injuries.
Case has been charged with aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer, fleeing and attempting to elude, and leaving the scene of a crash with a property damage.
