Guns and Hoses raises money to help one of their own

The money raised from this year's Guns and Roses softball tournament will benefit one of their own (WJHG/WECP).

WALTON COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Walton County Sheriff's Office and Walton County Fire Rescue faced off in some friendly competition in a softball tournament Saturday called "Guns and Hoses."

All the proceeds go towards Cancer Freeze, a local non-profit that raises money for people battling cancer.

This year, the money went to one of the sheriff's office's own. Child protective investigator Lee Berry was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year.

Berry said seeing his peers and community support him is just as important as the monetary support Cancer Freeze provides.

"All these organizations have shown up today to put this much effort into helping myself, my family and other people that are dealing with what we're dealing with," said Berry.

Cancer Freeze donates money directly to individuals in the community.
