TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - More federal money is coming to the Florida Panhandle to help with Hurricane Michael recovery.

Governor Ron DeSantis announced Tuesday the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has allocated $326 million for areas impacted by Hurricanes Irma and Michael.

Governor DeSantis says northwest Florida is getting $287 million of the money set aside.

This money is provided through HUD's Community Development Block Grant - Disaster Recovery Program. This money will potentially help with damaged housing, businesses, and infrastructure.
