Hathaway bridge pipeline construction granted 60-day extension

BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - After issues with a water line leak under the Hathaway Bridge, construction on the project is moving forward.

Bay County signed a contract in March of 2018 with Marshall Brothers Construction & Engineering to do an emergency repair on a pipe leak. Crews immediately installed a temporary bypass.

However, the project was delayed due to utility issues with a pipeline. But Tuesday the county commission approved to extend the contract an extra 60 days giving the company enough time to remove the existing water line and continue the project.

The extension will not affect the cost or timeline of construction.
