Health officials issue mosquito-borne illness advisory after two cases of EEE

BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Make sure you're draining standing water!

The Florida Department of Health in Bay County announced there has been an increase in mosquito-borne disease activity, causing a mosquito-borne illness advisory. Health officials say two horses have tested positive for Eastern equine encephalitis (EEE) infection within a two-week period.

Health officials want to remind you to drain and cover: Drain standing water to keep mosquitoes from multiplying, cover your skin with clothing or repellent, and cover doors and windows with screens to keep mosquitoes out of your house.
