Holy Nativity Episcopal School students return this week, but not on their campus
Holy Nativity Episcopal School students return to school this week, but not to their own campus.
Three-K through third-grade students celebrated their "second first day of school" by attending class at their temporary location Holy Nativity Episcopal Church Monday.
Fourth-grade through eighth-grade students will return Tuesday.
The students will come together for their traditional Halloween parade on Tuesday.
By the end of the week, they will be split between Holy Nativity Episcopal Church and St. Thomas By the Sea Episcopal in Panama City Beach.
"It is a choice, it's a parent choice. We have a lot of families that have temporarily moved out to the beach for housing and so there's a long commute into the Cove and so until we can get portables and bring everybody together as one school, we're kind of offering the choice," Lauren Presser, the Director of Marketing for Holy Nativity, explained.
It is unclear when the school will reopen as it sustained significant damage.
