Impacts felt at Bay County's airport after Boeing aircraft grounded

BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Slight impacts are being felt at Bay County's airport after news this week that all Boeing 737 Max 8 and Max 9 aircraft are to be grounded.

Southwest has had to cancel a couple of its flights at Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport as they make adjustments to flight schedules.

The airport's Executive Director Parker McClellan says the airline is working to accommodate passengers impacted by the cancellations, and he asks that passengers check with their airline to ensure no changes have been made to their planned flights.

Meanwhile, officials with the Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport tell us they've had no impacts to flights in and out of VPS.
