Important dates to know before you cast your ballot

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - If you're hoping to vote in your upcoming municipal election, there are some deadlines you need to know.

The municipal election will be held on April 21. To cast your ballot, you can attend your city's designated voting location. The deadline to register for that is March 23.

However, before the municipal elections will be the presidential preference primary election held in March. Several super voting sites will be open throughout Bay County for you to cast your ballot. The deadline to register for that is this Tuesday, Feb. 18 until midnight.

"Because if it comes down to one vote difference and you didn't participate, you're that person that could have made the difference because it takes the first person voting and the last person voting and all the numbers in between to make the actual total of the election," said Mark Andersen, supervisor of elections in Bay County.
