CRESTVIEW, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - The State Attorney's Office finished its investigation into a Crestview Police Department in-custody death.

The investigation found Keauntay McNabb, of Crestview, died of a drug overdose while in police custody.

Police responded to the North Pearl Street area on March 28. They say they received calls that McNabb was breaking into several homes and acting strangely.

Officers say they found McNabb acting erratically and detained him. They say while officers detained him, McNabb became non-responsive and unable to breathe. He was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.

An autopsy determined McNabb died from poly-substance toxicity from cocaine, ethanol, and THC.
