WALTON COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - The Health Department that covers Escambia, Okaloosa, Santa Rosa, and Walton Counties has issued a breach notice to its patients.
Representatives say an unauthorized user "compromised a Children's Medical Services employee's Microsoft Outlook 365 account" between October 8th and October 16th. They say the department reset the employee's login credentials and reported the event to the Inspector General and the Security Administration Team.
The Health Department's representatives say it is possible people who were served by the District 1 Child Protection Team could have had their names, psychological, and medical conditions accessed.
Representatives encourage people to review their credit history for any fraudulent or suspicious activities they have not authorized. If you find fraudulent activity, contact your local law enforcement.
