MARIANNA, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - The County Administration building in Jackson County will stay closed to the public for the time being.
In a special meeting Monday afternoon, the Board of County Commissioners elected to keep the offices closed to the public until at least April 15.
Jackson County leaders say they will discuss closer to the 15th how to move forward, but in the meantime, the office is still functioning as normal and leaders say they will help locals in any way they can.
County administrator Wilanne Daniels said,
"We’re continuing to help the public by phone, email, and in some cases, if absolutely necessary, opening the door If we have to receive a documentation or something like that.”
Officials were also briefed by the Jackson County Health Department on the second positive case of COVID-19 in the county and emphasized the importance of social distancing and staying sanitary.
