Jackson County commissioners approve development of new Dollar General store

A new Dollar General will soon be on its way to Jackson County.

Jackson County commissioners held a special meeting Tuesday where they approved the development of a Dollar General store off Caverns Road in Marianna.

Several residents voiced concerns over safety and traffic as the development is close to a neighborhood.

Others wrote in saying they support the new development along with the potential for economic growth.

They also said they hope the commission works to avoid any potential traffic or safety issues.
