Jackson County orders burn ban
Another area of the Florida Panhandle has put a burn ban in place after extremely dry weather.
Jackson County Commissioners voted to prohibit outdoor burning. This includes all outdoor burning of yard trash, household paper products, bonfires, campfires, warming fires, outdoor fire places, chimneys, and cooking fires. The only fires allowed are fires authorized by the Florida Forest service or for the cooking of food in a gas or charcoal grill.
The ban is in place until conditions improve as determined by Jackson County Commissioners and the Jackson County Fire Rescue Department.
