Panama City Beach had to do away with many of its major events this year because of COVID-19, but one is still in drive for this week.

Jeep Jam officially begins Tuesday and will take place at Frank Brown Park through Sunday.

Officials with Visit Panama City Beach say this year‘s event is estimated to bring in 8,000 jeepers, calling it a helpful boost to the local economy after several weeks of closures.

“It’s great for the local economy. We’re excited that we’re going to have so many visitors in the area that can help our local businesses and just come down, enjoy, have a great vacation,” said Visit Panama City Beach public relations manager. Lacee Rudd.

We're told there will also be many hand washing stations and hand sanitizers placed throughout the event space.
