Junior League's Diaper Bank steps up to help families in need

PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) With the coronavirus pandemic, many parents are finding it hard to locate diapers at the store. However, the Diaper Bank, a part of the Junior League of Panama City, is stepping up to ensure that parents have some essentials.

"Our community needs us to respond in everchanging ways and right now this diaper bank program that we have locally really meets a lot of need, and really helps to eliminate diaper gap," said Lauren Presser, the Junior League President Elect.

The League buys in bulk from companies like Walmart and works with agencies to distribute the diapers.

Diapers are also considered a luxury item by government programs, so despite stores running low, parents in need may already have a hard time getting them for their children.
