BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - A local church brought several faith-based organizations together along with the community to help with hurricane recovery.
During the Voices of Hope seminar at Jenks Avenue Church of Christ Wednesday, locals were able to reflect on what has happened in the six months since Hurricane Michael and learn ways to continue to recover from the storm.
Guest speakers like Bay County Emergency Services Emergency Management Division Chief Joby Smith also spoke about the community's resiliency.
"Continue to do what you're doing and preserve. Let the county, let the recovery organizations, the faith-based organizations know what it is that you need and just know that we're in this for the long haul," said Smith.
Smith said it's also important for residents to keep up with information and other resources that disaster relief organizations provide.
