Local church overcomes Hurricane Michael damage

BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - A local church was destroyed by Hurricane Michael, but churchgoers are turning to their faith following the storm's destruction.

Lynn Haven United Methodist Church had two campuses and several different services before Hurricane Michael tore through the Panhandle and destroyed both. Since the hurricane, the church has been holding only a single service every Sunday in the Bay Haven gym.

Members have said that having only one service with all 600 members coming together from both campuses has made the church even more of a community than it already was.

The church plans on continuing to hold only a single service for the foreseeable future.
