PANAMA CITY, Fla (WJHG/WECP) - One gas station in Panama City kicked off the new year by giving back to the community.
The Beeline gas station on Standford Road gave away 2,019 gallons of gas to celebrate the new year. Each car received five gallons of gas and more than 400 cars were served.
A new pizza shop in town also gave away free pizza to cars waiting in line. Many people say this small act of kindness is a big blessing.
"It's a great help for the community, it really is. it's nice to see people giving back, it really is," Panama City resident, Emmie Wheat said. "I think everyone should do that."
The gas station staff say they hope other businesses will follow their lead and give back to the community.
