PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - One local girl's hard work has lead to a six hundred dollar check for the humane society.
Although Kira Schipansky, 12, lost her home and most of the things in it to Hurricane Michael, she still wanted to help animals affected by the storm in any way she could. Schipansky put her artistic abilities to good use and began painting pieces of broken fence boards in an effort to raise money.
Soon enough, the orders flowed in, and she recruited her cousin to help her complete orders. Schipansky sold approximately 36 boards and was able to raise $600.00 for the Humane Society of Bay County.
