Local organization to celebrate 19th Amendment Centennial

BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - The Bay County Federated Republican Women is celebrating the 19th Amendment's Centennial. Some members joined us in the studio with more.

A local organization is celebrating the 19th Amendment with their 100 Years Strong event. (MGN)

The 19th Amendment allowed women the right to vote. So on June 22, there will be a parade at 10:30 a.m. that begins at the Lindsey Furniture parking lot and goes across the Hathaway Bridge to Shipyard Grill and Sun Harbor Marina. Other people will be walking across the bridge holding retro-suffrage signs.

Speakers, music, and fun will begin at Shipyard Grill beginning at 11:30 a.m. and runs through 2:30 pm.. This event is open to the public and free of charge.

There will be a $10 fee for those wishing to purchase a box lunch.
