BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Schools will soon be out for summer, but that doesn't mean they will be closing their doors.

The Bay District School Board approved language in lease agreements between several organizations so they may use their school buildings over the summer.

Mercy Chefs is planning to use Oscar Patterson's cafeteria, Experience Mission Inc. would be at Mowat Middle School, Girls Inc. would be at Oakland Terrace School for the Arts, and Boys & Girls Clubs of Bay County would be at Callaway and Lucille Moore elementary schools.

Superintendent Bill Husfelt said during Tuesday afternoon's school board meeting that these groups are all serving some form of humanitarian purpose in the community.
