LYNN HAVEN, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - One local church is helping out the community through food.
Lynn Haven United Methodist Church is hosting a Mobile Food Pantry in partnership with Feeding the Gulf Coast on March 9 from 9 a.m. to noon. They will distribute 25,000 pounds of food in the parking lot at 4501 Transmitter Road, Panama City.
The giveaway will include non-perishable items as well as fresh produce and meats. One box of food per household. Recipients do not need to show an ID or proof of address. Anyone in need of food is welcome.
“This food pantry will distribute more than double the amount of food as our previous events and we hope to serve double the number of families or more,” said Heather Howell, Lynn Haven UMC’s Director of Radical Hospitality. “Because of our generous congregation and the Grace of God, we are able to provide for local families in need while sharing the love of God to each family. We hope to bless each family not just with the food, but through prayer and letting them know that we care deeply about them.”
The distribution will end early if supplies run out before noon.
