LYNN HAVEN, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Lynn Haven leaders say the city has been given more than $3 million in donations to help with Hurricane Michael recovery reimbursement.
Thursday, Lynn Haven leaders said donations have passed the $3 million mark, unaudited. The amount is a combination of monetary donations, tangible goods, and temporary buildings.
The donations can be applied to the 12.5 percent cost share not covered by federal and state assistance after Hurricane Michael.
City leaders say Hurricane Michael has cost the city more than $23 million. They say the major costs were clearing roads and rights-of-ways, as well as debris. City Manager Michael White says while $23 million is a huge amount of money, cleaning up the debris was a huge task.
