Man in the Sea Bash promotes and supports local museum

PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - On Saturday, locals enjoyed all kinds of seafood while supporting all kinds of sea history.

The Man in the Sea museum hosted an oyster bash event with all-you-can-eat fish fry as well as oysters, hamburgers and hot dogs.

Guests were also invited to tour the museum and check out the restored SEALAB 1, the world's first working undersea habitat.

The museum chronicles the history and importance of diving with an emphasis on local history.

"Everybody that is coming today is supporting our museum so you'll support our extended exhibits, the exhibits that we're already putting in place, the continued restoration of sea lab, so just a good cause to support a local museum," said Heather Nowak, executive director of the Man in the Sea Museum.

Nowak said the museum aims to educate the public on the many contributions of the diving world.
