A man is facing multiple charges after leading Holmes County Sheriff's deputies on a brief pursuit Tuesday.

Deputies say they received information that Nicholas Cassidy, 29, was driving a motorcycle that had been reported stolen out of Washington County. They later observed Cassidy traveling on Highway 81 in Ponce de Leon and attempted a traffic stop.

Cassidy then led deputies on a brief high-speed chase on Highway 90 toward Westville topping speeds of over 100 mph. Once stopped, he continued to ignore commands.

After Cassidy was subdued, a search resulted in the discovery of a small bag of marijuana. When booking him into the Holmes County Jail, authorities also discovered methamphetamine.

Cassidy is charged with possession of methamphetamine, attempting to elude law enforcement, resisting an officer without violence, driving while license revoked (habitual offender), smuggling contraband into a detention facility, and possession of marijuana less than 20 grams.
