PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Panama City Beach tourism officials are looking forward to the new year when new developments are beginning.
According to Visit Panama City Beach, a new 13-acre beach resort, a new airport hotel, and the sports complex will help make Panama City Beach a year-round destination.
The 13-acre beach resort is the Margaritaville Beach Resort, which will combine a full-service hotel, innovative amenity park, function space, several signature Margaritaville food and beverage concepts, retail, residential properties for sale, and more. The resort is expected to begin a phased opening in Spring 2021.
Also planned, a new hotel at the Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport. The St. Joe Company hasn't announced the brand of the hotel yet, but says it will include between 110 and 125 rooms, a full-service restaurant and bar, meeting space, and more. The St. Joe Company says the airport will be built adjacent to the airport within the Bay-Walton Sector Plan owned by the company.
Lastly, the Panama City Beach Sports Complex is expected to open next summer. It will have offer places to play soccer, lacrosse, rugby, football, flag football, baseball and softball. The complex will also have dedicated tournament buildings, two stadium championship fields with seating for 1,500, and a 113-field complex made of nine turf and four grass fields.
