Medical Monday: Keeping athletes in the game

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Sports injuries aren't uncommon, especially in sports such as football, wrestling and soccer. That's why Gulf Coast Regional Medical Center's Sports Medicine Program has athletic trainers at every Bay County High School.

The trainers are there to provide support and therapy to athletes in all sports.

"We have an athletic trainer at every school, every day dealing with whatever happens, from injury prevention exercises to evaluations of the injuries that happen," said Athletic Trainer Ray Morris.

According to Gulf Coast Regional Medical Center officials, the hospital provides the Sports Medicine Program for free to Bay District Schools.
