Medical Monday: Advanced Urological Care

Medical experts say urological issues are more common than you might think, and advanced treatment options are available.

Urologist Dr. David Aronoff says treatment is available for both adults and children in the Panama City area.

"We're able to offer a whole range of urological services on the adult and the pediatric side. We're able to give caring, sensitive, discrete help to all people in an area that's generally kind of, for a lot of people, embarrassing to address," explained Dr. Aronoff.

According to Dr. Aronoff, children sometimes have issues with voiding dysfunction, meaning urgent urination or pain. These are issues that can be addressed effectively without having to travel outside of the Panama City area. He said parents would have to travel as far away as Jacksonville or Birmingham if these services weren't offered locally.

Another specialty service that can be provided in Panama City is reconstructive urology that offers treatment for patients that don't have the ability to stay dry.
