Women often work hard to make sure everyone in the family has what they need. Doctors say this focus on others is what leads some women to neglect their own health.
Panama City surgeon Dr. George Reiss says this is especially true after Hurricane Michael. The stress of dealing with the storm's impacts has caused a decrease in regular health check-ups. Dr. Reiss recommends routine check-ups with a family doctor, breast self-exams, a clinical breast exam and a yearly mammogram.
